Tumbleweed Park Pickleball Facility

How do you create a pickleball facility that balances competition with fun?

The Tumbleweed Park Pickleball Facility is a championship-level pickleball destination delivering high-performance recreation, community connection, and long-term value for the City of Chandler.

Dig Studio worked closely with the City of Chandler—leading a team of architects and engineers—to deliver a new, 18-court, championship-level public pickleball facility at Tumbleweed Park, a regional community recreation destination in Chandler, Arizona. Our team led the project from conceptual design through construction, delivered three months ahead of schedule and under budget, resulting in a successful outcome for both the client and the community.

The facility provides essential park infrastructure to support the growing number of pickleball enthusiasts and to accommodate organized tournaments in a comfortable, amenity-rich environment. Features include abundant shade and seating, a custom restroom and equipment-storage building, stretching and fitness stations, custom wayfinding signage, custom-designed practice walls and courts, and pickleball-themed sculptural art. While many public pickleball venues are built to general recreation standards, this facility was intentionally designed and constructed to meet the full suite of USA Pickleball Guidelines, which dictate highly specific tolerances for court slope, surface flatness, net installation, lighting, safety clearances, and spatial layout. By delivering courts that meet nationally established competitive standards, the City of Chandler now offers residents and visiting athletes a tournament-ready destination unmatched in quality within the state.

Whether welcoming new players, seasoned athletes, or dedicated spectators, the Tumbleweed Pickleball Facility is designed to serve the community’s wide-ranging needs for generations to come.
