Gretchen Wilson Named Fellow and National ASLA President

At the 2026 National ASLA Convention in Downtown Los Angeles, Gretchen Wilson, surrounded by friends, family, and colleagues, celebrated two major accomplishments. On Thursday September 17th, she was officially recognized as a Fellow by the American Society for Landscape Architects (ASLA) at the Council of Fellows ceremony. This prestigious recognition highlighted Gretchen’s leadership and management through her work on landmark projects like City Park Nature Play and Carpio-Sanguinette Park and Heron Pond, as well as her curiosity, technical knowledge, and continual growth as a leader and mentor who co-founded Dig Studio in 2012.

She joins an exclusive group of landscape architects who have earned the Fellow distinction through significant and sustained contributions to the profession, exemplary work, and a steadfast commitment to bettering society at large. We have always seen Gretchen as a dynamic leader who embodies all the qualities of a Fellow, and we are thrilled to see her formally recognized!

On Friday September 18th, the celebrations continued as Gretchen was officially sworn in as the new ASLA national president. In this role, she will advocate for and support the Society’s mission, vision, values, and culture while playing a key role in shaping and advancing strategic initiatives. Her role as president further positions Dig Studio as an influential voice in landscape architecture, urban design, and planning. Gretchen has always been passionate about giving back to the profession, and we can’t wait to see all she accomplishes through this new platform.
