A catalyst for a new urban neighborhood.
Dig Studio is leading the site design for the one-acre park of the 9th and Colorado Redevelopment to serve as the central neighborhood green and event plaza. The vibrant and flexible central green builds on the legacy of genetic research at the former hospital and incorporates DNA sequencing patterns and genetic forms into the site design for subtle, yet sophisticated references to the site’s heritage.
An arcing promenade walk separates plaza and dining spaces from an amphitheater lawn that cascades down to a multi-use stage for outdoor music and movie events.
A variety of plantings work with the terrain for on-site water quality infrastructure.
Exterior restaurant patios define the edge and flank the Bridge Plaza at the base of the iconic 9th Avenue bridge building, an adaptive reuse to office space.
